From its humble beginnings, Aashirvad Cinemas has grown into one of the most respected production houses in Indian cinema, earning its reputation through impactful storytelling, innovative filmmaking, and an enduring passion for the art.
A Humble Beginning
Our story began in Chennai, where the foundation for our debut film, Narasimham, was laid. Operating from a modest guest house that served as a makeshift production base, Aashirvad Cinemas was driven by passion and perseverance. On January 26, 2000, Narasimham redefined box-office success in Malayalam cinema, solidifying Mohanlal’s legendary status and marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey.
Expanding Horizons
In 2008, Aashirvad Cinemas reached a new milestone with the opening of its first office in Kochi. This expansion heralded our entry into film distribution with Sagar Alias Jacky and our foray into the theater business, beginning with our first theater in Thalayolaparambu. Today, we proudly operate 27 screens across Kerala, including the iconic theater in Thodupuzha, which remains a cornerstone of our legacy.

Films like Ravanaprabhu (2001), Innathea Chinthavishayam (2008), Ividam Swargamanu (2009) and Drishyam (2013) brought us Kerala State Awards, and Spirit (2012) along with Marakkar (2021) earned National Awards, exemplifying our commitment to meaningful and impactful storytelling.
